“Wisely and slow, they stumble that run fast.”

Romeo & Juliet (Act 2, scene 3)

I am a writer of historical fiction and creative nonfiction. My current work-in-progress is set in the medieval era and features two of Shakespeare’s queens and three of his kings. Any guesses?

In 2017, I earned my PhD in English from St. John’s University with a specialization in Shakespeare and Performance Studies. As the Artistic Director and a founding member of Adirondack Shakespeare Company, I have lost count of the number of Shakespearean productions in which I have taken part. Favorite roles include Cassius in Julius Caesar, Portia in The Merchant of Venice, and the title roles in Richard II and Hamlet.

I currently live in upstate New York with my husband, Patrick, and our sweet senior mutt, Pippin. We miss Pippin’s brother, Gus, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Pi Day.

Some of my greatest joys–in addition to rediscovering that writing can be fun–are giving belly rubs to good pups, making jam from freshly picked berries and stone fruits, and performing in fast-paced, seat-of-one’s-pants Shakespeare plays.
